Introduction

Found on the internet, subbed lean ground beef and turkey sausage for 2 lbs of Italian sausage. Found on the internet, subbed lean ground beef and turkey sausage for 2 lbs of Italian sausage.

Ingredients

    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 lb. turkey sausage
    28 oz. canned diced tomatoes
    (2) 14 oz cans of tomato sauce
    (2) 5 oz cans of tomato sauce
    1 cup diced onion
    4 cloves diced garlic
    4 tsp basil
    1.5 tsp red pepper flakes
    2 tsp parsley
    1.5 tsp brown sugar
    .5 cup red wine

Directions

Brown beef and sausage, add onion and garlic and cook until translucent. Add all tomato products then spices, herbs and sugar, bring to a simmer then add wine and lower temp. The long you let this cook, the better, recommended at least one hour.

Serving Size: Makes about 10 one cup servings
