Lisa's Split Pea with Ham Soup

Introduction

Great with or without the ham. Great with or without the ham.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1 bag of dried Split Peas,
    1/2 Bone-in ham steak
    2 Carrots sliced
    1/2 Yellow Onion diced
    1 stalk Celery sliced
    2 cloves of Garlic crushed
    2 cups Swanson 33% less sodium 100% Fat Free
    Chicken Stock
    4 pieces Sun Dried Tomatoes
    4 cups Water - add more if needed
    1-2 tsp Morton Lite Salt
    1/2 tsp Black Pepper
    1 Tbsp of Olive Oil

Tips

To make vegetarian omit the ham and use soy crumbles.


Directions

Prep vegetables and saute in olive oil until slightly softened. Remove any debris from peas and rinse in colander. Add to pot with stock, water and ham. Season and cook until peas are the texture you like best.
