Introduction

Waffles with whole wheat flour, apple sauce, flax seed, wheat germ, and wheat bran! Waffles with whole wheat flour, apple sauce, flax seed, wheat germ, and wheat bran!

Ingredients

    2 eggs, beaten
    1 3/4 cups skim milk
    1.5 tbsp canola oil
    1/2 cup (scant) unsweetened apple sauce (one individual container)
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup flax seed meal
    1/4 cup wheat germ
    1/4 cup wheat bran
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Mix together dry ingredients in a large bowl.

In smaller bowl, mix together wet ingredients.

Add wet to dry, stir until combined.

Drop into lightly oiled (Pam!) waffle iron. Cook as per waffle maker directions.
