Sweet Brown Rice Breakfast
Submitted by: CHAD8510Introduction
This is a mixture I make every once in awhile for breakfast This is a mixture I make every once in awhile for breakfastIngredients
-
1 Cup Brown Rice, cooked
2 T Almonds, slivered
2 T Raisins
2 Small Dashes of Cinnamon
2 Small Dashes of Vanilla Extract (optional)
2 T Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Almond Milk, unsweetened
Tips
I always have some cooked brown rice in the fridge that I can use for this. If you need to make the rice on your own then obviously it is going to take more time. I suggest just tossing some brown rice in a rice cooker at the end of the night, popping it in the fridge when it's done, and using it for this recipe during the next morning.
You could easily use any other kind of milk for this recipe, but I prefer to limit my dairy. You could also easily divide this ingredients list in order to make it for one person. Every once in awhile when I want it just a tad bit sweeter, then I add a packet of Stevia.
You could easily use any other kind of nuts in the place of the almonds. If you don't have maple syrup, then you could use honey instead.
Directions
2) Combine the almonds, raisins, and cinnamon with the rice. Mix it up a little.
3) Add the maple syrup and vanilla extract (optional), and stir until it's well combined.
4) Add the milk and mix it through.
5) Warm the mixture up on the stove over a low to medium heat until it is to the desired warmth. You could also warm it up in the microwave if you wanted to.
