Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    Makes 1 loaf

    1 cup boiling water
    1 cup Quaker quick Oats
    1/4 cup honey
    1 tsp salt
    1 Pk yeast (3 tsp)
    1/4 cup warm water
    4 tsp Vital Wheat Gluten
    2 cups-whole wheat flour



Tips

I modified this only to see how the caloric calculations would differ. Bread will rise higher with the added gluten, but more importantly it raises the protein content.

Makes 1 loaf, 16 slices

1. combine 1 cup boiling water, oats, honey and salt in and stir in a large bowl.

2. Combine yeast and 1/4 cup warm water stir until dissolved.

3. Add all ingredients and knead until dough is sticky. Then 5 minutes more until dough is smooth.

4. Spray loaf pan with Pam and set the dough in the pan. Cover with a damp towel and let rise for 45 more minutes.

5. Preheat the oven to 425

6. Bake in hot oven for 25 -30 minutes.
