Ingredients

8 - 12 prune plums, halved and pitted
TOPPING:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup cold butter
CAKE:
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1, 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
GLAZE:
3/4 cup icing sugar
1 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp almond extract
Tips
Make sure cake is warm and not hot for glazing.
Directions
TOPPING:
Stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside.
CAKE:
Beat sugar and butter with mixer until fluffy, mixing eggs well, one at a time. Add vanilla. In separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternating with milk. Pour batter into lightly buttered 9-in springform pan. Arrange plums, cut sides up on top of batter; sprinkle with topping. Bake in oven at 350 degree F for about 1 hour, testing for doneness. Cool in pan on rack, 10 min.
