El's Chili Con Carne

Introduction

Not too spicy but has a nice kick. Not too spicy but has a nice kick.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 large onion - chopped
    1 green pepper-chopped
    1 yellow banana pepper- chopped
    1 # lean ground beef
    16 oz. of canned tomatoes (I use the diced)
    10.5 oz. can tomato soup
    1/2 tsp paprika
    1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
    1 bay leaf
    2 tbsp. chili powder
    3 cloves garlic minced
    2 tsp. salt
    15 oz can of pinto or red beans

Tips

You can add more cummin to get more Tex-Mex flavor.


Directions

Brown beef in large pot and drain off fat. Add onion, peppers and garlic and saute until tender. Add next 6 ingredients .
cover and simmer an hour, stirring occasionally. Add water if chili gets too thick. Add beans and salt last and simmer another 30 minutes.
