Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients

    2 cups hot water
    1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 T salt
    5 1/2 cups whole grain flour
    2 T Yeast

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Mix the hot water, applesauce, and salt, then add two cups of flour. Mix well and then add the yeast. Mix well and then add three more cups of flour (enough so the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl).

Cover the bowl and allow the dough to rise for about 45 minutes

Mix the dough, taking it back down to about its original size, then divide the dough into two equal balls.

On a floured surface, knead each ball and gradually form into a loaf, then place inside of an 8 1/2x4 1/2" loaf pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

Allow the loaves to rise in their pans for another 45 minutes and then place in the oven and bake for 35 minutes.
