Slow Cooker Ribs and Kraut

Submitted by: BERNADETTE93

Introduction

Easy to make, with a deep rich flavor that satisfies that comfort feeling that comes from warm rivh foods. I make mine with Hot Paprika and add a little chipoltle powder as well so it has a nice spice to it. Ingredients:

Pork Ribs, country style, 16 oz - appx 3 small ribs
Red Potato, 453 grams - 1 lb, quartered
Sauerkraut, 4 cup - 1 bag with liquid
Onions, raw, 1 large - quartered and left in large pieces
Mushrooms, fresh, 2 cup, pieces or slices - I use fresh mixed mushrooms
Cider Vinegar, 2 tbsp - To use at end.

    Garlic powder, 2 tbsp
    Pepper, black, 1 tbsp
    Paprika, 1 tbsp

Tips

Great with Rye Bread or Pumpernickle on the side.

Directions

Mix Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Pepper and Paprika together to create a rub. Rub this mixture over the country ribs.

Place Ribs on the bottom of the slow cooker with the fat side down.

Quarter Onion and toss in around the ribs.

Quarter potatos and toss in over Onions.

Pour saurkraut and it's liquid over the mixture.

Poor Mushrooms over Saurkraut.

Cover with lid and set Crock Pot to 8 hours.

After 8 hours the pork will have fallen appart and mixed into the rest of the food. Pull out bones (usually one per rib).

Mix in 2 tlbs of Apple Cider Vineagar, cover with lid and leave on warm for 20 minutes.
