Jackie's Steel Cut Oatmeal

Introduction

Great for breakfast! Great for breakfast!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    3 cups water
    1 cup steel cut oats
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 T Splenda
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1/3 cup chopped walnuts
    1/3 cup dried blueberries
    2 cups 1 % milk

Tips

Before adding milk, divide into 4 portions. Eat one serving with 1/2 cup of milk. Put remaining 3 portions into individual containers and store in refrigerator. Then you can just reheat the oatmeal in the microwave and add 1/2 cup of milk for a quick and nutritious breakfast.


Directions

Combine water, salt, and oats in pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to keep from overflowing. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, add splenda, cinnamon, chopped walnuts, and blueberries. Stir until combined. Put lid back on and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add milk and serve.
