Submitted by: TEEJAY2009
Introduction
For a once in awhile natural treat w/o all the high fructose corn syrup of store bought ice cream. Recipe from Passionatehomemaking.com For a once in awhile natural treat w/o all the high fructose corn syrup of store bought ice cream. Recipe from Passionatehomemaking.comIngredients
-
4-5 cups raw, unpasteurized whole milk
1-2 cups cream
1 cup natural peanut butter (I grind it myself)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2-3/4 cup cane juice crystals (you can also experiment with maple syrup, agave nectar, etc)
2 tsp vanilla extract
Tips
* To make it creamier, skim some of the fresh cream off the milk and replace 1-2 cups of the milk with the cream (i.e., 3 cups milk, 2 cups cream)
* Grinding your own peanut butter is easy with a food processor. I use dry roasted unsalted peanuts. Add to the food processor and process for several minutes until as smooth as you want it. I never add oil or sugar. It's perfectly yummy just like that!
