Broccoli Francaise

Ingredients

    3 TBSP light margarine spread
    2 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 TBSP lemon juice
    1 tsp grated lemon peel
    1 tsp ground black pepper
    1 C fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
    1 tsp cornstarch
    4 C hot cooked broccoli florets
    lemon wedges (optional)

Directions

Melt margarine spread in a 1 Qt saucepan, over meidum-low heat; cook garlic, stirring occasionally, until garlic is golden (about 1 min).

Stir in lemon juice,lemon peel, pepper, and broth combined with cornstarch. Bring to boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens (about 2min). Pour sauce over hot cooked broccoli and garnish, if desired, with lemon wedges.

Serving Size: serves 4; 1 C servings
