Hot Breakfast Shake

Submitted by: WARRENSENSEI

Introduction

Kinda like what hot chocolate would be if it tried to be a meal in an of itself Kinda like what hot chocolate would be if it tried to be a meal in an of itself
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

Large microwave safe mug (about 1.25L/1qt size)
    stick/immersion blender
    1 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup organic chunky peanut butter
1/3 cup Breakfast Shake power (or pure cocoa powder)
1 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
    1 tbsp flax seeds
1 tbsp EVOO (or safflower oil!)

Add curry powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, teas, powdered supplements, etc. to taste or medicinal need.

Tips

Mess with the spicing to really satisfy your cravings! The "default" recipe is my base profile, and I will often add green tea, chai tea, or medicinal tea/infusion loose-leaf/powders, an I regularly mix up my ingredients for a different texture or flavor. Be aware, however, that changing anything might give you different values, so do come and check the differences!

Directions

mix all ingredients and spices (except milk) into a large microwavable mug, then fill to 1/3 of the mug's capacity with water. Blend right in the mug with the stick blender (or you can do this in a regular blender, but that's slower an messier!) until you no longer hear or feel "chunks" (the flax seeds, peanuts, and other stuff that needs grinding smooth). Put in microwave for 3 minutes (or time indicated on oatmeal packaging), then remove and add the milk and blend again to mix well.

Serving Size: makes 1 big serving
