Meatballs with Tomato Sauce

Introduction

Classic meatballs, made with lean beef and whole wheat breadcrumbs. Classic meatballs, made with lean beef and whole wheat breadcrumbs.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb lean ground beef
    1/2 cup bread crumbs (preferably whole wheat)
    2 Tbsp minced onion
    1 egg
    1/4 cup milk
    1 Tbsp parsley
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 Tbsp olive oil
    2 15-oz cans tomato sauce
    2 tsp Italian seasonings
    2 cloves garlic, minced

Directions

Mix together beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, milk, parsley, salt. Shape into 1" meatballs. Brown in hot olive oil in nonstick skillet. Add sauce and seasonings. Cover and simmer 10-20 minutes.

Serving Size: Makes 34 meatballs (about 4 per serving)
