You can cut WAY back on sodium on this recipe if you make your own "taco seasoning." Chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin and maybe a little thyme. Dash or pinch of salt if you wish, but the flavors of the seasonings allow you to skip salt. If you like spicy, add a little hot sauce too. - 1/29/09

great flavor!I have no issue with salt so it was fine for us. I weigh breast before & allow for cook off for my weight of 4 ounces (raw) . I have also made this with pounding the breast & rolling up with fresh salsa & ff cheese, then rolling in the seasons, yummy. But common sense is half of cooking! - 4/25/09

Nice idea, we liked it a lot. We turned it into more of a taco "parm" with salsa though. Sliced the chicken thinner, and made a mixture of low sodium taco seasoning mixed with Panko breadcrumbs, saute' in olive oil. Pop in oven with salsa, added low fat cheese. Never would have thought of this recip - 11/14/10

I had everything except the taco seasoning, so I just googled a "recipe" to mix my own. I had all the spices. I was only making one serving, so I just put enough in the bag to make sure the chicken was coated well.
Turned out delicious! Subbed greek yogurt for the sour cream and added cheese. Yum - 6/20/11

I had low expectations due to how ridiculously quick and easy this was to make, but this was DELICIOUS!!! Even my picky sister loved it and wants me to make it again. Very flavorful without being too spicy. Served over Mexican Style Rice with a side of corn for a great combination of tastes. - 4/26/13

ooops! I put the salsa on top before cooking... and I'd do it again!!! It was SO moist and tender, and it saved a step. Hubby said it is his favorite chicken. Used left over on tacos, and gave my hubby a sand. of it sliced w/ mayo, ff ital dress, lettuce and tomato. (left off the onion- working) - 3/2/13

I absolutely LOVED this recipe! My very picky 16 year old ate the chicken without the salsa on top. My 7 year old son loved it with the salsa! I added a few sliced green olives on top of the sour cream and served it on top of a bed of mexican rice. It was delicious! Try it on a salad, too! Mmm! - 7/24/12

Somehow between breaking up a fight between my daughters, aking my 4 neices two by two to the restroom and circling the bakery for cookies I lost the printed recipe at Publix. I recalled only the ingredients, got home and dumped everything minus the sourcream in my crockpot by mistake. EASY&DELISH! - 7/12/12

I'm sorry, but since when is it considered worthwhile adding a recipe to a site like this, when that recipe essentially reads: "tear open store-bought seasoning, add to chicken. Bake. Top with store-bought topping"? Read the back of any pre-made, store-bought spice mix for recipes like that! - 5/31/12

Very yummy, but a little too spicy. Next time will only use half of the taco seasoning. Used 5 chicken breast that came in my package. Took piece out for son before adding salsa. After done shredded chicken with two forks and used in taco shells topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. - 10/20/11

This was really delicious. I did change it up a bit though. I put chopped up onions, green pepper, and olive oil in the bag before putting the taco seasoning in. Then after I took it out of the oven, I put a little bit of cheese on the top. I also added black beans with a little bit salt and lime. - 10/4/11

I'm not a very picky eater, but my husband is - especially when it comes to healthy dishes - so I'm constantly searching. This recipe was a winner! So easy & so very good - even my husband thought so! As suggested by another reviewer, I used a black bean & corn salsa instead of the regular. Thanks! - 7/28/11

I tried this recipe tonight and it was very good, though I had a little variation. At the twenty minute mark, I spread a can's worth of drained, rinsed black bean over the chicken and lightly sprinkled with taco-seasoned cheese. Then, at the 25 minute mark, I added the salsa. It was delish! - 5/11/11

Wow! Super easy and a different flavor for chicken. I actually used the taco seasoning mixed chicken baked as the recipe said and then added some shredded cheese the last few minutes to melt it and shredded it and put it on a wheat tortilla with a bit of taco sauce. It was yummy and filling! - 3/2/11
