Molesses-Ginger Tofu

Introduction

Tofu doesn't have to be complicated! This easy recipe can be accomplished in as little as 15 minutes. Tofu doesn't have to be complicated! This easy recipe can be accomplished in as little as 15 minutes.
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    .5 tsp ground ginger
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp sesame oil
    1.5 tsp minced garlic
    1 tbsp molasses
    1 block firm tofu

Tips

No need to press or marinate with this recipe. Just gently wring out a little water with a paper towel and pour the marinade on top of sliced tofu.


Directions

1. Whisk all ingredients (except tofu!) in small bowl.
2. Press tofu gently with paper towel to remove water (this will only work with firm or extra firm.) Slice into six slices.
3. Lay sliced tofu flat in a tupperware. Pour marinade on top. Gently shake or flip tupperware with lid on to distribute marinade. You can let the tofu sit between 10-45 minutes here if you want, but if you're in a hurry, just the gently shake will work.
4. Lay tofu flat on lightly oiled foil-covered baking sheet. Broil on low for about five minutes per side, until marinade looks set and tofu has browned and shrunk slightly.
