Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 tbsp olive oil
3 links of sweet Italian turkey sausage
1 cup low sodium chicken broth
    1 cup heavy whipping cream
    2 tbsp butter
    1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
    6 cloves garlic (chopped)
    1 cup carrot strips
    1/2 cup frozen peas
    2 cups sliced mushrooms
    1 cup chopped leeks
    Dry italian seasoning.
    12 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 package Barilla linguine (16 oz)

Directions

Get a large pot of water ready and set it on the stove on hight. (this is for the pasta)

What you want to start with is always the meat. You want to add the olive oil to a deep skiller, and add the turkey sausage (casing removed). Break it up with a spatula as it cooks. When fairly browned you add the garlic, onion, , carrots, and pease. Sprinkle dry italian seasoning and 1/4 a cup of chicken stock to simmer.

When doen here your pasta water should be boiling, add your pasta and let cook.

Then you take the butter and melt it slowly in a sauce pan untill foamy. Then you add the heavy cream, 1/4 cup of chicken broth, and parmesan cheese. Be sure to keep it on low and stir often. Add salt and pepper to taste.

After meat is browned and vegetables are tender you add the canned tomatoes, be sure you have them drained! you don't want alot of moisture.

after pasta is done cooking, drain the pasta of all water then put pasta back into pasta pot. Add the meat + veggie mix. Stir, then add the cream sauce. Then the last t hing you do is add in the fresh basil (cut into slivers).

* If you feel like it, you can add some shredded mozzarella to make it nice n' goupy.*
