I wasn't optimistic, but I had to use up some apples. Yum-O! I used cranberries instead of raisins and they give the cookies a fun bite! They're like a cross between a granola bar and a cookie. I'll probably make them again (tomorrow). - 11/24/08

Not too sweet but yummy because of the raisins and apples. My daughter thought she was having a "treat" before bed but didn't have the sugar high to keep her awake! Thanks! - 2/1/08

  • It's difficult to know how much 4.5 ounces of quick oats is. Why not just indicate 1 cup, 2 cups or whatever the way the rest of the recipe is written? - 10/24/14

  • These are awesome! Next time I'd add a little more cinnamon. I used dried cranberries and a few chopped walnuts and will be making a double batch! - 9/30/11

  • I made these cookies, but I used regular flour and 1/4 cup agave nectar instead of brown sugar. The cookies were so soft and not too sweet. Delish! - 9/5/11

  • We prefer a more crisp cookie, so I'll make some modifications to this recipe, but the flavor is excellent and I love the addition of apple! - 6/10/11

  • I am getting ready to make my second batch! Added 1/2 C. toasted walnut pieces. One cookie makes a filling snack, & my husband approves wholeheartedly! - 9/25/10

  • Substituted dates for raisins which I mildly regret, but you have to try, right? Also added a little nutmeg which I don't regret. Quite soft and tasty. - 3/20/10

  • Very good! I didn't have any vanilla extract (how'd that happen!!!) so I used some of the juice from the apple too. Now for the ultimate test....too see of the kids like them or not. - 1/19/10

  • My family loved this recipe although I did use Splenda instead of the sugar and used nutmeg instead of the cinnamon because my father-in-law is allergic to cinnamon. - 8/28/09

  • I used Organic Whole Wheat Flour and as much as I can't stand sugar subs., I too used Splenda blend and it turned out AWESOME. My inlaws love it even though it's "healthy" or somewhat healthy. My husband will love them and as a type II diabetic, I love them too. - 4/22/09

  • My husband likes these cookies. My only change to the recipe was using baking Splenda. Since we watch his carb intake, the ingredients make this a cookie that he can enjoy and not worry about too much sugar or refined flour. - 2/6/09
