Whole Wheat Pancakes with Butter-Pecan Syrup

Ingredients

    Syrup
    2 tbsp butter
    1/2 cup chopped pecans
    1/2 cup maple syrup

    Pancakes
    1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    3/4 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 1/3 cup milk (I used 2%)
    1/4 cup canola oil
    1 egg, beaten

Tips


Directions

For syrup: in 1 qrt saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add pecans and cook until browned. Stir in syrup and heat until hot.

For pancakes: in large bowl, mix dry ingredients. Stir in wet.

Griddle at 375 degrees or non-stick skillet on medium heat. I used medium scoop (which is about 1/4 cup) but the recipe says 1/4 cup of batter for pancakes.

Serving Size: 2 pancakes is serving size
