Dad's Slow Cooking Amazing Chuck Roast

Introduction

Slow Cooker Slow Cooker
Number of Servings: 14

Ingredients

    2 pack brown gravy mix
    1 pack of good seasons Italian mix
    1/2 pack of Hidden valley Buttermilk Ranch mix
    1 cup of water
    3.5 lbs of chuck roast

Directions

2 pack brown gravy mix
1 pack of good seasons Italian mix
1/2 pack of Hidden valley Buttermilk Ranch mix
1 cup of water
3.5 lbs of chuck roast



Stir all powders together , then add water.
Pour over chuck roast in crock pot (even though it looks like very little water there is plenty)
Cook on Low for 8 hours

Serves 14 and you get 4 oz of meat & goes great with red potaotes.

    My husband always turns his nose up to chuck roast and says its too chewy or too something. I tried this recipe because it sounded good. He came in, took a plate, I was waiting for him to complain when he turned around and said now this is good, keep this recipe. That was a true compliment. - 7/20/08

  • I left out the 2 packets of gravy mix (I didn't have any in the house). I added a few red potatoes, baby carrots and mushrooms. Some of the potatoes and carrots didn't cook very well but other than that it came out great. It was very flavorful! - 2/2/11

    I put all the pieces into spark correctly and accurately and just double checked - so yes I believe so - I think it is the bulk is protein and not the fatty mean part!

  • Super! My spouse made it and it was great! However, I believe the nutrition info on the page is wrong. Click on View Nutritional Breakdown by Ingredient & you will see that just the 4 oz (.26 lb) of Beef chuck roast alone is 349 calories for a total of 363 calories. - 4/14/10
