Taco Chili

Introduction

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1/2 lb ground chuck
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    1 can diced tomatoes
    1 can tomatoes with green chilies
    1/2 cup tomato sauce
    4 tsp taco seasoning
    1 can kidney beans

Directions

Brown the ground chuck in a pan and drain off fat, transfer the meat into a soup pot and add in all the rest of the ingredients and let cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes and serve.
I also add a drop or two of hotsauce to taste.

  • I always buy the beans and tomatoes with no added salt. You could also use Chef Meg's recipe for taco seasoning to lower the amount of sodium. I usually add garlic, onions, more beans and maybe some other veggies. This is a good basic recipe to adjust to suit each person's taste. - 3/8/11

  • I'd use a lot more spices: cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. I'd also add onions and maybe one or two much hotter chili peppers. - 2/26/11
