Digest Diet - Spaghetti with Super Mushroomy Marianara 2 cups




Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1/4 c water
    2 tsp red wine viengar
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    16 oz sliced Baby bella (cremini) mushrooms
    2 c bottled marinara sauce
    6 oz cooked turkey breast, chcken breast, roast beef, slivered or shredded
    6 oz whole wheat spaghetti, broken into thirds
    1 pkg (10 oz) frozen fench cut green beans, thawed
    1/4 shredded parmesan cheese

Tips

For the bottle sauce look for one with 450 millgrams of sodium if possible


Directions

Bring a large pot of water to boil for the pasta.
In a medium sausepan combine the 1/4 c water, vinegar, pepper orver med-high heat. Add the mushrooms, stir to coat, cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are beginning to soften and giving up their liquid, about 5 minutes.
Add the marinara sauce and shredded meat and simmer while you cook the pasta.
Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package directions.
Place the beans in the colander and drain the hot pasta over them. Return both to the pot and add the mushroom sauce and toss to coat. Sprinkle each serving with 1 Tblsp of the Parmesan.

Serving Size: Makes 4- 2 cup servings
