Wild rice salad

Introduction

adopted from a recipe at food Network. adopted from a recipe at food Network.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    3.5 cups water
    1 cup wild rice
    1 cup brown rice
    1 Tbsp olive oil
    .5 cup diced onion
    .5 cup diced celery
    .5 cup diced red bell pepper
    .5 cup diced carrot
    .5 cup almond slivers
    .75 cup frozen peas
    1.25 tsp red pepper flakes
    2 Tbsp fresh chopped parsley

Directions

bring water to a boil.add the rice,cook until tender 40 - 45 min.
aAdd oil to a skillet over medium heat add onion , celery, peppers and carrots salt and pepper if you desire
Saute' until tender.
In a different skillet ,toast the almond until browned.
Add peas and pepper flakes to veggies then add the rice and mix together,allow to cook for a few minutes.Remove from pan and add almonds and parsley .Serve with meat or fish
