Easy Turkey Chili for one!
Submitted by: PHYLLIYUMIntroduction
easy, quick, and delicous easy, quick, and delicousNumber of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
* Green Peppers (bell peppers), 0.5 cup, chopped
* Peppers, sweet, red, raw, sliced, .5 cup
* *Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, .5 lb
* *Hunt's Tomato Sauce, no salt added (one small can)
* Canned Tomatoes, .25 cup
* Onions, raw, .25 cup, chopped
Season to taste
Directions
(I did the serving information per one serving. the recipe actually makes 3 1.5 cup servings.)
Put the ground turkey in the pan and simmer with about a half cup of water. Add more as needed. I like to season with Italian Seasoning and McCormick's Natures Seasonings. The water will draw the fat out and once the chopped veggies are added, it will also help the turkey absorb the taste of the veggies.
After the turkey is slightly browned, add the chopped peppers and onion. Add about another half cup of water. Once the turkey is browned completely, add the canned tomatoes (i like to use chili-ready tomatoes) and the can of tomato sauce, plus 2 small cans of water.
Boil for 10 minutes.
I like to add cheese to mine. Enjoy!
