Honey Almond & Pear Tart

Ingredients

    1.25 cups All Purpose Gluten Free Flour
    0.50 tsp Sea Salt
    1 stick of unsalted butter, chilled and cut in small pieces
    0.5 cups ice water

    4 cups peeled, cored and diced pears
    0.25 cup Honey
    1 can (12.5 oz) Solo Almond Cake & Pastry Filling
    1 large egg

Directions

Add salt to flour. Cut-in the butter until grainy. Add ice water slowly as you mix until the dough forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap. Chill for one hour.

While dough is chilling, heat up 4 cups of water in a large non-stick skillet. Add the honey and stir to combine. Sautee the pear cubes in the simmering honey water until tender and most of water has evaporated.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Roll out dough to slightly larger than your tart pan. Place in greased tart pan. Press down to fill entire bottom of pan.

Combine almond filling, egg, and cooked pears until just mixed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes until filling is set and crust is done.
