Chicken Marsala without wine and lower sodium

Introduction

Ingredients

    3/4 cups flour
    1 3/4 cups chicken broth
    24 ounces chicken cutlet
    1/4 tsp Mrs.Dash original blend
    1/4 tsp pepper
    3 tbsp unsalted butter
    4 ounces rinsed canned mushrooms
    4 tbsp olive oil
    1/2 tsp onion powder
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp paprika
    1 tsp cornstarch
    2 tsp water

Tips

I did not use many mushrooms as not all of my family are fans but feel free to add more to it if you want.

Directions

1.Put chicken in a plastic bag and pound flat with meat tenderizer
2.Season chicken with listed seasonings saving 1/2 of the paprika and then dredge in flour on a plate.
3.Heat 2 Tbsp of the oil on medium high heat. I saved the other 2 Tbsp for the second half of the chicken that I cooked.
4.When oil is hot fry each piece for 3-4 minutes on each side.
5.Remove chicken and place on plate with paper towels. Cover chicken with foil to keep warm.
6.Reduce heat to medium and add butter,onions,minced garlic and mushrooms. 7.Sprinkle with paprika and saute for 3-5 minutes. Season the mushrooms lightly.
8.Add broth and allow to cook for 3 minutes.
9. Mix water and cornstarch together and cook until sauce thickens a little.
10.Pour mushroom and sauce over chicken and enjoy.


Serving Size: makes 6 4-ounce pieces of chicken
