Deb's Bran Muffins

Introduction

A great lowfat bran muffin that is wonderfuly tasty and very low in fat and sugar, you can put a few chopped walnuts or dates and step it up a little with spices...YUMMY A great lowfat bran muffin that is wonderfuly tasty and very low in fat and sugar, you can put a few chopped walnuts or dates and step it up a little with spices...YUMMY
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 egg(I substitute egg beaters)
    1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce
    1 cup of low fat buttermilk
    1/3 cup of honey or brown sugar or molasses
    mix all ingred. together
    Set aside and mix
    1 cup bran -wheat bran
    1 cup flour
    1/4 tea salt
    1 tsp b. soda
    1tsp cinnamon(optional)
    1/2 cup of chopped walnuts(optional)
    1/3 cup chopped dates or raisens(optional)
    Mix all dry ingred. to wet ones
    Bake in muffin tin @ 325 for 25 min
    They are GREAT!

Tips

It is a simple recipe and you can switch it up with fruit and spices or plain and very good.


Directions

Bake @ 325 for 25 min, take out of oven cool anf flip out of pan, they freeze very nice...so you can just crab 1 and pop in the microwave 20 seconds.

Serving Size: Make 12 muffins sometime you can get a few extra!
