Lynnette's Homemade Knock-your-socks-off Marinara

Submitted by: ALLABOUTLOVE

Introduction

This is so easy to make and when you try this sauce, you will never buy marinara sauce again. This recipe makes quite a bit. This sauce gets better the longer it sits. Make it at least 1 day in advance from when you want to use it. This is so easy to make and when you try this sauce, you will never buy marinara sauce again. This recipe makes quite a bit. Ingredients

    1/2 cup olive oil
6 cloves of garlice crushed ( you can use more if you want)
    1.5 cups of chopped onion
Italian seasoning to taste - I use 1/4 cup
2 large cans of crushed tomatoes (28 oz.)
    1/2 cup of red wine

Directions

Warm a large sauce pan over medium high heat.
Put the olive oil in the warmed pan with the garlic and onion.
Cook the onions until they are soft.
Add the Italian seasoning. It will get very fragrant.
Add the crushed tomatoes and the red wine.
Cook , on medium, at least 45 minutes, but, longer is better. Stir it often so that it doesn't burn.
