Grandma's Chicken Casserole
Submitted by: MSUALEXISIntroduction
My Grandma would make this all the time when I would go over for dinner. I've listed the recipe as originally made, and since it's from her book from the 60s, it's not super low-cal. I'm sure with adjustments like turkey bacon and greek yogurt or fat-free sour cream it could be! My Grandma would make this all the time when I would go over for dinner. Ingredients
-
5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4.5oz jar dried beef
5 slices bacon
1/2 cup sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Tips
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350F
Line 9x13 baking dish with dried beef
Place chicken on top of dried beef
Top each piece with a piece of bacon (I like to rip the bacon in half and use two halves per piece of chicken)
Combine sour cream with cream of mushroom soup and spoon over chicken.
Bake at 350F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until chicken and bacon are both done
Serving Size: Serves 4 (or 8 if half-breast servings)
Number of Servings: 4
