Hot Dog Salad

Introduction

All the taste of a Chicago Style Hot Dog, healthier and without the bun! All the taste of a Chicago Style Hot Dog, healthier and without the bun!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

This is from Rachael Ray on the Food Network, but I modified the hot dogs to use a lower fat/cal version and modified the serving size:

    1/4 Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard
    2 tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. sugar
4 tbsp olive oil (much healthier than vegetable oil)
    1/2 medium red onion
8 oz. shredded cabbage blend for slaw
    1 cup shredded lettuce
    2 medium tomatoes, diced
    3 large dill pickles, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
8 Ball Park Bun length Turkey Franks

Directions

In the botom of a large bow, mix together mustard, vinegar, sugar and 3 tbsp of the olive oil. On top of the "Dressing": add onions, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. Toss together.

Heat a large skillet, add 1 tbsp. of olive oil. Slice the dogs on an angle, about 1/2 inch thick. Sear for two minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. Spread the cooked dogs on top of the slaw mixture.
