I only had brown sugar, and used less than 1/4 cup and upped the cinnamon. this where a late night hit! Rolled them small and it was just enough to satisfy! Will make again. - 10/31/09

I seen a couple posts of ppl mentioning leaving out the food color. I didn't see it listed in the ingredients? My mom always used jello for coloring. Of course this would be in exchange of the sugar, honey & cinnamon. - 1/9/11

Skipped the cinnamon, added maple flavor & walnuts. Dropped by spoonfuls on waxed paper to cool. Better than crunch-n-munch or cracker jacks! - 1/5/11

I have never made this, but it sure sounds good. I don't see why you couldn't use Splenda. I do have the Slenda recipe book and they have a recipe for carmel corn, do I say go ahead with the Splenda. Bon chance! - 10/18/10

  • These were pretty good. Problem was I ate like 4 of them. They are a very "munchy" type item and it's too easy to eat all of it! Probably won't make too frequently as just 1 isn't satisfying .. too tempting. - 1/16/11

Recipe sounds good I'd delete the comment about giving them out to trick-or-treaters. It's not safe for kids to consume unwrapped Halloween treats from stranger and a lot of trick-or-treating is done to homes of strangers. - 1/5/11

I was just wondering, a different way to make rice krispie treats/ without using corn syrup (I could use honey). I will try this recipe, but I suggest, not to add food coloring, if giving out at Halloween, many many parents, do not allow their children to eat them, and would be great just as is! - 1/5/11

Wonder if it would taste as good if you substitute real sugar with splenda? That would significantly reduce your calories and sugar of this recipe. - 1/8/09
