Ingredients
-
Apple, fresh, 1 medium, sliced
Cinnamon, ground, 0.25 tsp
Pecans, 0.25 oz (about 5halves)
Walnuts, 0.5 oz (14 halves)
Love & Peas Vanilla Pea Protein 1/2 serv (1 level scoops (Natures Sunshine Products)
Schwans Frozen Asparagus Spears (6 spears), 1 serving
Schwans Triple Berry Blend, 0.5 cup
2 oz. water
Nutiva Coconut Manna 1 tbsp
cocoa 1/3 tbsp
Yoplait Greek Yogurt 2x protein 6oz Plain, 1 serving
Tips
Could use ice if you don't have the frozen veggies or fruit. Could also use frozen yogurt. The cocoa powder is what helps hide the "green" veggies so the kids think they're getting a chocolate shake (which they are... kinda....sorta...only better!). (8.22.2012).
Directions
Follow the instructions on your blender to prepare smoothies. With my Vitamix, I started with the water, apple (sliced up), processed it, and then turned machine back to low when adding frozen items and rest of ingredients, processing back and forth from high to low. I was just adding what looked good, what I had. I'd substitute coconut oil if I was out of the manna (manna is like a "peanut butter" only made with coconut meat and oil.).
