Introduction

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb Yellow Split Peas
    1 Ham Bone with approximately 1 lb of ham
    1 medium onion, chopped
    6 cups water

Directions

Put the ingredients in the crock pot in the order they appear and set on low for 8 to 10 hours.
At the end of the cooking time, remove the ham bone and dice the meat. Use an immersion blender on the soup if desired and return the meat to the pot.
Add salt if necessary (I wait until after the cooking time is finished because salt content of hams vary) and cracked black pepper.

Serving Size: Makes 4 hearty meal sized servings
