A bread recipe that I use often! A bread recipe that I use often!

Ingredients

    Ingredients
    2 pkgs. dry yeast
    2 cups warm water
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tbsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    6 - 6 1/2 cups white flour
    soft butter or margarine






Directions

Directions
1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, oil and three cups flour.Beat until smooth. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Turn dough onto lightly floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic, 8 to 10 minutes.Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up.
2. Cover, let rise in warm place until double; about one hour. Punch down, divide in half. Roll each 1/2 into a rectangle. Roll up beginning at short side. With side of hand. press each end to seal. Fold ends under loaf. Pan 9 x 5 x 3". Brush loaves with oil, rise until double, about one hour. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Place loaves on lower oven rack in center. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until deep golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from pans and brush with butter.
3. Variations : Cinnamon Raisin Bread - when bread in rolled out, I sprinkle sugar, cinnamon and raisins on dough, then roll up. After baked drizzle with powder sugar glaze.
4. Itallian style- Sprinkle dried tomato pieces, basil,and garlic on dough, then roll up.
