1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tbsp. ground flax seed mixed with 3 tbsp water
Preheat oven to 375* F. In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined. In another, larger, bowl cream together the butter and sugar. Slowly add in the flax/water mixture until blended. Add in the flour mixture, all at once, and mix until a stiff dough forms. Roll the dough into rounded teaspoon sized balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet, 2 inches apart, and slightly flatten with your palm. Bake for 7-9 minutes, until set and remove from baking sheet to cooling racks to cool completely.
