Creamy Italian Salad

Introduction

My homemade creamy italian style salad. My homemade creamy italian style salad.

Ingredients

    1 head butter lettuce
    1 head each green leaf and red leaf lettuce
    1 cucumber
    6 roma tomatoes
    1 red onion
    1 container gorgonzola crumbles
    1 tbsp sugar
    .5 tsp salt
    .5 tsp pepper
    1 tsp basil
    1 tbsp lemon juice
    .5 tbsp dijon mustard
    1 tbsp red wine vinegar
    1tbsp basalmic vinegar
    2.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    2.5 tbsp canola oil
    8oz (about) sour cream

Tips

You can cut the tomatoes and cucumbers however you like, I wrote the recipe the way I do it.


Directions

Wash and cut lettuce and place in a large bowl. Cut cucumber and tomatoes (I cut them into fours) leaving the skin of the cucumber on. Cut red onion into thin slices then cut in half. Add in gorgonzola crumbles.

Dressing: Mix together sugar, salt, pepper, basil, lemon juice, dijon mustard, vinegars, oils, and sour cream in a leak proof container. Shake until well blended. Pour over salad and toss.

Serving Size: Makes about 6-7 decent sized bowls
