Ingredients
-
4-6 apples, depending on size. Granny Smith recommended
3 to 4 tsp of Splenda brown sugar blend (or use 1/4 c brown sugar if unable to get splenda blend)
Ground Cinnamon
1 1/2 c oatmeal, plain
1/2 c milk, skim or 1%
2 tsp Truvia or 1 Tbsp Splenda
Tips
Granny Smith apples are a great choice. But other apples are just as good! Splenda brown sugar mix isn't available everywhere, but just account for increase in calories if using regular brown sugar, just use a bit less... just enough to coat the apples.
Directions
1. Pre-heat oven 325F or 165C.
2. peel, core and slice apples. (You can keep the peels on as well, still yummy!) Place the sugar on the apples; mix them together, tossing or with a wooden spoon until the sugar is dissolved on the apples in a nice syrupy look. Sprinkle cinnamon to taste
3. Place the Oatmeal, splenda/truvia, and sprinkle cinnamon to taste. Blend together. Add the milk and blend to a lumpy mixture that is slightly sticking together.
4. place apples in a dish, usually a 8x8 pan or 8-9" round pan. Level the apples. Place the oatmeal mixture over the top. For a nice crisp, melt a little butter and sprinkle over or use the spray butter just atop the oatmeal. Bake about 30 minutes.
Enjoy!
