Meat Sauce

Ingredients

    1/2 lb ground beef
    1/2 lb Italian sausage
    2 T olive oil
    1 small onion, diced
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 T Italian seasoning
    1 14-oz can diced tomatoes
    1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
    pinch crushed red pepper

Directions

Brown beef and sausage. Add in Italian seasoning, diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and crushed red pepper. Simmer covered.

While simmering meat sauce, heat the olive oil then caramelize onions in saute pan. Stir in garlic & cook 30 seconds or until fragrant. Stir into meat sauce.

Simmer covered for 20 min. Salt to taste.
