Stuffed Turnips

Introduction

Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    4 large turnips,peeled and cored & washed
    2 Tbsp Salt coarse
    1 onion, minced finely
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    1 tbsp coriander seeds, ground
    1 Oz ground lamb meat
    1/2 cup rice, rinsed
    2 TBsp sunflower oil
    Salt,1 Tbsp
    Pepper,1 Tbsp
    3TBSp Tahini
    juice of 2 lemons

Directions

- take the cored part of the turnips,put salt on them and put them in a colander overnight to drain.
-wash the cored part from the salt, and squeeze it very well.
-mix the rice,spices,meat and mix very well.
- stuff the turnips with the mixture and brown them quickly in 1TBSP oil.
- heat 1 tsp oil and stir in the onion, then add the garlic & coriander then add the cored part on it and add a dash of salt & pepper.
-cook on very low heat until done around ( 15-20 minutes).( it will cook down and shrink in quantity)
-put the stuffed turnips over the cooked core and add boiling water to cover them.
-bring to the boil for 40 minutes.
-in a bowl mix the tahini & lemon juice & then add to the cooking turnips and cook for another 2 minutes then remove from heat.
-scoop the turnips in a dish and serve hot with the stuffing.
