Low-fat Cheddar Cheese Grits

Introduction

Quick, tasty, low-fat southern style grits. Goes well with breakfast or dinner Quick, tasty, low-fat southern style grits. Goes well with breakfast or dinner
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    3/4 cup quick cooking grits
    2 cups skim milk
    1 1/4 cup water
    1 cup shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp pepper
    1 tbsp margarine

Directions

Combine water and milk in pot and bring to a boil. Slowly whisk in grits. Simmer for 5 minutes, covered, stirring occassionaly. Once grits have thickened, remove from heat and stir in cheese, margarine, salt and pepper until combined. Serve and eat!

Serving Size: Makes 4 1-cup servings
