Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

8 oz sliced Baby Portabella Mushrooms
1 large Onion, cut in wedges
1 pound of Stew Beef pieces
1 carton Wegmans FYFGA Vegetable Culinary Stock
Salt, pepper and minced garlic to taste
10 tsp Bisto Beef Gravy Granules

Tips

This recipe can also be made with beef stock if desired. Alternatively, we have also made it with chicken pieces, chicken stock and chicken gravy for a lower fat dish.

Directions

Combine mushrooms, onions, stew beef, vegetable stock, salt, pepper and minced garlic in slow cooker. Set on low, cover and let cook for 8 hours. (Can be hurried by cooking on high, or allowed to cook longer as necessary.)

Prior to serving, ladle out 2 cups of the stock, transfer to saucepan and bring to boiling, add the Bisto Beef Gravy Granules and stir well until dissolved, return to the slow cooker and stir to incorporate. Turn off slow cooker and allow to sit 10 minutes, covered. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles as desired.

Serving Size: makes 4 generous servings or 6-8 smaller servings
