Apple sauce Pork Chops

Introduction

These are so tender and yummy. These are so tender and yummy.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 tbs olive oil
    .5 cup red onion chopped large pieces
    1 lg apple cored and cut in 8 pieces
    2(1/2 to 1 inch thick) pork chops
    3/4 cup no sugar added apple sauce
    2 tbs light brown sugar
    2 tbs Zatarain's Creole Mustard
    1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
    ground black pepper to taste
    ground sage

Tips

no beef in this dish. The only choice for Main category. You can adjust the brown sugar, mustard, and cinnamon to you taste.


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

2.Place olive oil in a lg skillet over medium heat; cook onions for 2 to 3 minutes, then add apples and cook until slightly soften for about 4 minutes. tranfer onions and apple to a bowl.

3. Sprinkle sage and black pepper onto chops cook over medium heat and brown pork chops in the same skillet until brown about 5 minutes on each side.

4. Mix applesauce, brown sugar, musard and cinnamon
with the onions and apples.

5. Place pork chops in a baking dish pour apple sauce mixture over chops cover dish.

6. bake in preheated oven until center of chops are no longer pink. Bake 25 to 45 minutes depending on oven and thickness of chops
