Maple Pecan Bars

    3/4 cup ap flour
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1 scoop vanilla protein powder
    1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
    1/2 cup cold butter
    1/4 cup applesauce

    1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup butter, cubed
    1/4 cup applesauce
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    1 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
    1 T milk
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

•In a large bowl, combine flour and confectioners' sugar. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in applesauce. Press into a greased 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
• Meanwhile, in a large heavy saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, applesauce, syrup, cinnamon and salt. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir over low heat until butter is melted. Stir in the pecans, milk and vanilla. Remove from the heat; spread over crust.
• Bake 20 minutes longer or until bubbly. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
