Low fat, low carb chicken tortilla soup without the tortillas

Introduction

Homemade in a crock, very easy to make and inexpensive too! Homemade in a crock, very easy to make and inexpensive too!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    Add to a crock pot:

    1. garlic
    2 2 cans of tomatoes (fire roasted is best)
    3. 1 can of black beans (rinse first)
    4. chicken breasts cut up into pieces
    5. salt and pepper
    6. chicken broth (low sodium is fine)
    7. 1.5 cups of salsa (whatever you prefer)
    (this would not let me convert out of TBSP)
    8. cilantro (fresh = 1 bunch or dried is fine)

    Throw everything into a crock and cook on low for 6-8 hrs or on high for 4-6 hours.

    Feel free to add more ingredients as per preference:
    1. corn
    2. green chilies
    3. a second flavor of beans for more protein
    4. ground cumin
    5. rice
