Aloha Fall Chili (makes about 11 cups)

Introduction

Ingredients

1 lb lean hamburger
1 red onion (whatever you have will do) about a cup
1 19 oz can Primo Red Kidney beans
1 19 oz can Graves Beans with Pork in molasses
1 can pineapple (14oz with liquid)
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
8oz of fresh mushrooms sliced
1 green pepper (about a cup sliced)
500 grams of fresh tomatoes
1 tblsp olive oil
1 red chili pepper (diced)
1 clove garlic or garlic powder
Tips
* check nutritional info on back of cans ...seem to very between Canada and US...in some cases the sodium is double the amt.
* i also drained the juices from pineapple and kidney beans
*removed the pork fat from beans with pork in molasses
Directions
First put your tomatoes in a pot and cook till mushy.
Strain with back of spoon into larger cooking pot leaving skins and seeds behind...(use or throw away. In the meantime cook your beef on stovetop until just done. Add Beef to larger chili pot.
Slice mushrooms, onions, garlic and green peppers ...saute lightly in 1 tblsp olive oil. Add to pot along with remaining ingredients.
Add beans, pineapple, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, chili peppers to pot
Your choice cook for 1 hr at a low temperature on stovetop or put in slowcooker on low and go for a walk, etc return a couple of hours later to Chili.
