Ingredients

    2 cups all purpose flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. granulated garlic
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 stick butter, cut into cubes
1 cup grated extra sharp cheddar cheese
    1 cup 1% milk
    3 T melted butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray. Set aside

Using a whisk, stir together the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, granulated garlic, dry mustard and cayenne pepper. Put butter cubes into dry mix and cut in with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in grated cheddar.

Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in 1 cup milk Mix gently until just holding together.

Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet. Brush tops with melted butter.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.

Makes 15 biscuits.

You could make the biscuits smaller but we like them big!
