"News" Kielbasa and Egg Noodles

Submitted by: SACKRET

Introduction

We call this "News" and it is my husbands specialty. I put it in the Recipe Calculator because we were joking about how bad it must be for calories, sodium and fat. We were shocked! It actually comes out to be fairly reasonable. And a serving of this is a nice, meaty, satisfying bowlful. We call this "News" and it is my husbands specialty. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 yellow onion, chopped
    8 oz mushrooms, sliced
    1 polska kielbasa, sliced
1 12 oz package egg noodles
4 tbs butter, cut up into 10-12 pieces

Tips

You can substitute low fat/low sodium kielbasa, but I do not recommend using a butter substitute. Real butter makes the dish!

Directions

Saute kielbasa, onions and mushrooms in skillet together. (Do not add any oil or butter to the pan. The fat comes from the kielbasa)
Boil egg noodles. Put about 1 teaspoon of the butter into the water while boiling.
Drain egg noodles, return to pot and stir in remaining butter.
Mix in kielbasa mixture.
Serve immediately.
