Mommy's Special Waffles

Introduction

I made up this recipe a long time ago, my girls and husband named it. I made up this recipe a long time ago, my girls and husband named it.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients


    2 large eggs
    2 cups flour
    1 3/4 cups milk
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 tbsp sugar
    4 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 cup old fashioned oats, uncooked
    1 cup chopped nuts
    3-4 tsp almond extract

Tips

I've only ever used an 'old fashioned' waffle maker, with the small squares. I do not know how this will work on a Belgian style waffle maker.


Directions

Heat waffle iron (not Belgian). Beat eggs in large bowl with hand beater until fluffy. Beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Pour a scant 1/3 cup batter onto center of hot waffle iron. Close lid of waffle iron. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle and enjoy.

Serving Size: 12 or so 1/4 cup waffles
