Butterscotch brownies

Submitted by: LISAR333

Introduction

So simple with ingredients usually on hand, but oh so yummy!!
One of my kids' favorites any time of the year.
The calorie count isn't really too bad for a desert, but warning: It's hard to stop at just 1 :)

Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1/4 cup Vegetable Oil,
    1 cup Brown Sugar,
    1 Egg,
    1 tsp Vanilla
    3/4 cup all purpose Flour,
    1 tsp Baking Powder,
    1/2 tsp Salt, .

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional and not included in calorie count)

Tips

It may be tempting to make a double batch in a 9 X 13 pan, and it works okay except that the inside brownies are still gooey with the outside done or the outsides are too crispy with the insides being done

The batter is REALLY thick and may not spread well, but once starting to bake it spreads out and fills the rest of the pan.

Directions

heat oven to 350 degrees
mix wet ingredients (oil, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla) together in medium bowl
mix dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a small bowl
Add dry ingredients to wet and mix well.
spread in greased 8 x 8 pan
bake about 25 minutes.
allow to cool for about 10 minutes and cut with sharp knife.

Serving Size: Depends on how you cut them. I do 1-inch squares so 16 per batch

Number of Servings: 16
