Introduction

This quick, low-cal, and low-fat version of green bean casserole has all the flavor of the original, but is made mostly of fresh ingredients and is ready in less than 10 minutes! This quick, low-cal, and low-fat version of green bean casserole has all the flavor of the original, but is made mostly of fresh ingredients and is ready in less than 10 minutes!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    2 C. Fresh snap green beans

    2 C. Fresh sliced mushrooms (I like portabella)

    1/2 C. Fresh diced onions

    1 Clove garlic

    3 Tbsp Dried onion (not the unsual fried version - I find mine at Fresh Market, but health food stores may also carry it)

    1/2 C. Low-fat cream of mushroom soup

Directions

Snap off ends of green beans and wash them

Put green beans, mushrooms, onions, and garlic into a steamer bag (I use Zip-lock, but there are other brands)

Steam veggies in the microwave 4 minutes

Pour steamed veggies into a bowl and add dried onions and soup

Mix together and enjoy!
